Intensifying efforts in game changing marine and coastal technology

JBA Consulting (the developers of ForeCoast® Marine) has recently appointed Martin Williams as the new Technical Director of our Metocean and Coastal Risk Management services. Martin’s role, which will come into effect in January 2018, will focus on the growth of our marine and coastal business through the delivery of innovative risk management solutions. The position builds on our recent success at the NCE TechFest Awards in September where we won two technology innovation awards – ‘Best use of Technology: Driving Efficiency’ and ‘Designer of the Year’.

Martin will join us from Lloyd’s Register, where he was Head of the Marine Data Systems group. Martin is a highly experienced commercial metocean manager and consultant with a twenty-five-year track record of providing premium metocean management and technical services to the global marine industry.

“It is no secret that demand from marine and coastal operators for innovative risk management solutions is growing,” said Mark Lawless, Director of Business Innovation and Head of Marine and Coastal Risk Management. “As offshore wind farms move further offshore, and marine construction projects generally get larger and more complex, the need to manage costly metocean risks is in sharp focus. With Martin in place, we will intensify our efforts to develop game changing technology that addresses and adapts to the challenges and opportunities that marine and coastal industries face.”
