JBA ranks 6th in the NCE100 UK & International engineering companies

After last week's NCE100 Companies of the Year Awards we’re very pleased to announce that JBA Consulting received an overall ranking of 6th out of 100 UK & International engineering companies. This is a great improvement on 2016 where we came 9th.

We were also shortlisted for the Global Firm of the Year and the Technology Champion categories. The judging process consisted of an initial application. Once shortlisted a face to face presentation to a panel of expert judges, made up from the most influential industry clients and peers, was required. The final announcement came at last night’s awards ceremony held in London at the Hilton, Park Lane.

Marc Pinnell, JBA Consulting Managing Director, commented, “We’re very pleased with our overall ranking. Being ranked number 6 of the top engineering firms across the country is a great honour and recognition of the expertise, experience and dedication of our staff – and the value they bring our clients. It’s pleasing also to have improved by three places on our position last year! Congratulations to MJ Rooney Construction for their Technology Champion award. Also to AKT II for their Global Firm of the Year award.”

Our shortlisted entries

Our Global Firm of the Year nomination highlighted our work with the World Bank. We’ve been working with them to manage the impacts of flooding across the City of Paramaribo, Suriname. Find out more in our Strategic Flood Risk Assessment and Coastal Resilience Assessment project overviews.

Our Technology Champion nomination focused on our ForeCoast® Marine metocean software for marine development and construction planning. More information and a demonstration can be seen on the ForeCoast® Marine website.

Mark Lawless, Director of Business Innovation, remarked, “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Technology Champion award. ForeCoast® Marine is a truly game-changing technology now being used to manage sea-state and weather related risks on a variety of complex marine construction projects such as a new nuclear power build and several offshore wind farms.

“It has raised the bar in terms of exemplar risk management on marine engineering projects and this shortlisting provides valued recognition of the hard work and dedication applied to the project by the JBA team and our project partners.”
