NCE 100 Awards – fingers crossed for 2017
JBA Consulting has been shortlisted for Global Firm of the Year and Technology Champion in this year’s NCE100 Companies of the Year competition. This week is the presentation round of the competition and we all have our fingers crossed for the awards ceremony on 22 June.
The NCE100 are the only awards to rank and reward firms that showcase and inspire civil engineering at its best. Based on employer and employee feedback and complete with face to face judges, these independent awards are the most rigorous in the industry. With 15 award categories, every firm stands a great chance of receiving the recognition they deserve.
Our shortlisted nominations
Our Global Firm of the Year nomination focuses on our World Bank project. We’ve been working with them to manage the impacts of flooding across the City of Paramaribo, Suriname. Find out more in our recent project overview.
Our Technology Champion nomination Focuses on our ForeCoast® Marine metocean software for marine development and construction planning.
2016 Champions
Last year JBA was awarded the Technology Champion award. After a face to face presentation to a panel of expert judges, made up from the most influential industry clients and peers, we received the award in recognition of our commitment to innovation and for capitalising on:
Super-fast computing
Use of gamification technology
Field based asset data collection using mobile technology
Asset management
The commendation for Technology Champion included recognition of our “application of technology across all aspects of our business and investment and a commitment disproportionate to the size of our business”. We were praised for the manner in which our technology, innovation and R&D is itself challenging and changing the sectors that we work in.
We were also shortlisted for awards under the ‘Talent Champion’ and ‘International Impact’ categories. Of particular note – we were ranked 9th out of 100 UK and International Engineering companies.
This year we’re going bigger and better and hope our 2017 application brings us closer to the number one spot in the rankings.
