JBA Consulting signs re-seller agreement with the Met Office for metocean risk management software
JBA Consulting, today announced that it has signed a reseller agreement with the Met Office. The Met Office will now offer JBA’s metocean risk management software - ForeCoast® Marine - to its marine and offshore clients.
ForeCoast® Marine allows marine operators to manage their metocean risks throughout the lifecycle of an offshore construction or energy project: from pricing weather into tenders, to designing detailed construction and maintenance strategies, through to managing live weather risks.
The Met Office has played a key role in the development of the ForeCoast® Marine software, providing expert forecasting advice and data to the project. This latest agreement builds on this relationship and allows the Met Office to offer the software to its own clients, helping them to minimise risks and reduce costs.
Dr Mark Lawless, JBA Director said: “JBA is delighted to extend our relationship with the Met Office through this reseller agreement. The Met Office’s commitment to the development of the software through its contribution of the latest science in probabilistic forecasting has allowed the software to provide improved levels of insight and certainty with respect to the viability of marine operations. This represents a step change in the way forecasting data is used.”
“The Met Office is pleased to offer ForeCoast® to the offshore industry through this new agreement with JBA. It provides an innovative planning visualisation tool with which to share our expert forecasting advice and data to support clients to reduce costs and minimise health and safety risk.” said Dr Douglas Taylor, Business and Operations Manager, Offshore Energy.
